Have you watched the speech of Senator Lito Lapid during Chief Justice Renato Corona impeachment trial? Well if you haven’t yet you can watch the replay below. I cannot deny the fact that among the 23 senator judges who were task to give the verdict with explanation to CJ Corona, it is Senator Mirriam Santiago and Senator Lapid that I have waited the most. I waited for Sen. Miriam speech because she’s popular for punch lines which I thought will be used prior to declaring her verdict. I also wait for Senator Lito Lapid speech since for sure he will deliver it in Filipino language and I wonder what the terms he will be using are. If you’re online through your twitter account you’ll know I am not the only one who anticipated for his speech.
Sen. Lapid was the 10th among the 23 senators who place guilty verdict against CJ Corona. He is also the only senator that did not prepare any speech instead used his conscience for his verdict. Despite becoming trending because of how CJ’s “Picha Pie” didn’t convince him. I should say his speech nailed it even without a lock washer in the sense that a lot of Filipinos from all walks of life were able to understand his speech.
